The Region

Absolution was founded on the 16th of September, 2006 but was never intended to develop into the region it has become. It was launched upon the arrival of five unfamiliar, non-recruited nations known simply today as the original five of which one still resides within the community they've helped to establish. Since then Absolution has grown. Currently one of the largest player-created regions within the game it is argued by many to be one of the most dynamic regions throughout the entire NS realm.

With humble beginnings Absolution tolerated its share of harassment from larger more experienced regions and nations. It has survived coup attempts, invasions, threats and severe adjustments to maintain its independence. Along the way regional members have always contributed to its development. Ultimately, Absolution belongs to its members and is considered a region of the people.

The region has always maintained an open-border policy and accepts all nations including nations of contrasting values. No member has been persecuted for their political alignment, history, flag, motto or personal views and all nations are considered equal and granted the same inalienable right to equal consideration and representation from their very first day. These defining characteristics of Absolution were established and are debated, enacted or abolished by regional members.

Absolution does not threaten, protect nor affiliate itself with others (for further info about this read the article Why No Alliances) thus does not have rivals and enemies made through ruptured alliances and conquests.

Development

Absolution began its existence as all regions do as an isolated area with one standing member and not even a World Factbook Entry. It would be a couple of months before the appearance of the basic outline to todays regional forum. The region was not supposed to be populated. It hadn't been created for development. It was supposed to be the quiet personal domain of one individual. But that's not what happened.

With the arrival of the first five nations came the interest of development. Within the first three months the region developed its first regional forum and website. Throughout its first year, numerous groups were established and the makings of what you see today were created.

The region today boasts possession of the highest and most outreaching security over any other entity. It has successfully infiltrated, discovered, repelled and discouraged security threats all over NationStates and is capable of watching over itself thoroughly through its use of The Ministry.
